IFFCY to hold specialized workshops

The 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Isfahan has scheduled to hold specialized workshops.

Director of the festival, Alireza Rezadad, recently announced that jury members and other professional guests attending the event will instruct the workshops.

Two scriptwriting workshops, a filmmaking workshop and six animation workshops are among the sideline programs of the festival.

The scriptwriting workshops will be instructed by Shadmehr Rastin and Mohsen Damadi. Shahram Mokri will also hold scriptwriting workshops in collaboration with Iran’s International Children Organization.

Three of the animation workshops will be held by Amirhossein Salehi and Alireza Golpaigani. Anna Karin Holtz, Hanna Matilda Andersson, and Mr. Varesani will instruct the other professional animation workshops.

More than 320 films, including 71 features, 104 short films, 25 animated features and 127 animated short films from 50 countries around the globe applied to take part at the international event.

The festival’s selection committee accepted 87 films from 42 countries, including 14 feature films from 11 countries, 23 short films from 16 countries, 7 animated feature films from 6 countries, and 35 animated short films from 20 countries.

The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.

The event celebrates films made for children and youth. It also supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas as well as serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.

The 30th edition of IFFCY is slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
